ab, April 16, 2002 at 2:14:00 PM CEST Is the Net taking too much of our time?
This is a multiple post blogged at my place and my other sister community place. But I'd like a wide variety of comments, so please don't hold back!
Apparently, about one in 10 couples who go to Relate for marriage counselling, blame the Internet for the breakdown in their relationship.
The report goes on to say that: “Both men and women complain of becoming Internet "widows" as their partners spend hours at the computer downloading software or looking at pornography.”
Does spending too much time online/ chatting/ playing games eat into our family’s time?
Are we indulging in a form of cybercheating if we spend a lot of time chatting with people of the opposite sex, when there are other things to be done? Or should we spend that extra time with our partners, building our personal relationships instead?
Where does one draw the line?
Should we be more careful as to how we spend our time online?
What do you think?
Would your relationship suffer if you found your partner/ spouse was spending too much time online? Time that you wanted to spend with him/ her?
Do you know anyone who has personally gone through a relationship breakdown because of this reason?
If you have something interesting to share, please spill...

I have a fetish for the letter 'S' ...about which you can read something here .
I noticed that the actual name of most people on this blog starts with an 'S' ...Syl, Shyam, Sathish, Satya, Sesha ...
What say? ........
ashok, April 13, 2002 at 9:49:51 AM CEST Man shoots off brain tumour
This guy cracked odds better than the super lotto. At 1:254 million, he managed to put a gun to his head and blow off his tumour instead of his brains. A touch of scepticism recommended.
This kid reads reads and reads. So why are his parents worried? Because he has a rare disease called hyperlexia, meaning excessive reading

ab, April 11, 2002 at 11:05:41 AM CEST Thought for the day...
I was just reading the response to my "Not another baby!" post and wondering, 'What if a whole generation of Indians', say aged between 25-35 stopped having kids.
Say the government came down with a BAN on this age group. If you have a kid against their wishes they'll take it away and give it to a less populated country like say... Australia!
I think it's a great idea.
Now don't flame me, okay? It's just an idea and you have a right to disagree!
Or come up with a better solution.
C'mon, after all we are the people who are leading the country into the new ERA, a BRAVE NEW WORLD. Ahem.
ab, April 11, 2002 at 10:57:23 AM CEST What do I do??
Anand, another problem. What do I have to do to make the link on the right (my name, y'know) become red in colour. I have created a topic called 'anita'. Now what?? Why isn't the damn thing showing as an active link?
:(

Scruples, anyone Here's a game that promises to test our values. I think it can be played on a collaborative blog. Here's how it works. Every player on his turn gets two things: a question and an answer. The answer could be yes, no, perhaps. The question will relate to an ambigious situation in life. Like for instance player A gets the question: "You make a major mistake in your work. It results in a loss for your company.... ... by ashok @ 5/6/02, 7:19 AM |
